OVERVIEW
The dominant geographical features of North India are the Indus-Gangetic Plain and the Himalayas, which demarcate the region from the Tibetan Plateau and Central Asia. North India has been the historical centre of the Maurya, Gupta, Pala, Harsha, Mughal, Marathas (Scindias), Sur, Sikh and British Indian Empires. It has a diverse culture, and includes the Hindu pilgrimage centres of Char Dham, Haridwar, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Allahabad, Vaishno Devi and Pushkar, the Buddhist pilgrimage of Sarnath and Kushinagar, the Sikh Golden Temple as well as world heritage sites such as the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, Khajuraho temples, hill forts of Rajasthan, Jantar Mantar (Jaipur), Bhimbetka Caves, Sanchi monuments, Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Agra Fort,Fatehpur Sikri and the Taj Mahal.

ARRIVE DELHI BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Welcome to Delhi, India's Capital and a major gateway to the country. Our Representative will greet you at the airport with a garland of flowers and then escort you to your hotel. Over the course of Delhi's history, many kings and emperors have fixed their royal citadels here at Inderaprastha , Lal Kot, Quila Ria Pithora ,Siri, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad, Ferozabad, Dinpanah, Delhi Sher Shahi and Shahjahanbad, Delhi has gone through many transformations over the centuries, each one absorbed and integrated into one , these 'new cities' Have always been called Delhi and howsoever many names it may have acquired, Delhi has always been intrinsically identified with power and empire. Delhi is said to be one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, along with Jerusalem and Varanasi, and it is believed to be over 5000 years old. Over the millennia, Delhi has been built and destroyed 11 times. The oldest alleged incarnation of the city is described in the Indian mythological epic Mahabharata as Indraprastha. Remnants of Delhi's rich past are evident all over the city, from at least as far back as the 10th Century and up through the British Raj that ended in 1948. Overnight in hotel.

MORNING DRIVE TO MANDAWA

Spread over Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Churu districts in north Western Rajasthan, The Shekhawati region is known for the fabulously painted Havelis (traditional houses built around a courtyard). Mandawa is one of the most outstanding among them. Besides the cenotaphs, wells, forts and temples, the majority of frescoes are painted on the walls and gateways of Havelis. Mandawa was founded in the early 18th century, and is dominated by a rugged fort (now a luxury hotel). Check in to your hotel on reaching Mandawa. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of the painted Havelis in Mandawa. Overnight in Mandawa.

After breakfast drive to Jaipur, The historic city of Jaipur or "The City of Victory" was founded in 1727 A.D by the great kachhawah ruler Sawai Jai Singh II )(1770- 1747 A D) and named after him. The monarch was not only a great builder, but also a poet and an astronomer. Under his aegis, the city was designed by by his talented architect Vidyadhar, who gave shape to the creative aspirations of Sawai Jai Singh in the form of the dream city of Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur and check in at the Hotel. In the Afternoon, embark on a city tour of Jaipur. Your tour will include the imposing city Palace, still home to the Maharaja although city Palace, still home to the public. Many antiques and artifacts belonging to the ruling family are housed here, including a collection of weaponry. You will also visit the Hawa Mahal, "Place of winds" and the open-air Jantar Mantar Observatory to see the huge by astoundingly accurate astronomical instruments. Enjoy a stroll through the colorful bazaar before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Jaipur.

Explore the impressive Amber Fort, Situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur city. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, making your entrance in the time honored fashion. The Fort, completed in the early 18 th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted , offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. The afternoon is free. You will have the opportunity to walk around the colourful bazaars, take a bicycle rickshaw ride or relax by the pool at your hotel. Overnight in Jaipur.

LEAVE JAIPUR FOR AGRA

After breakfast, leave for Agra. En route, you will stop for a tour of the Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient capital of Moghuls, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 but was abandoned after only 15 years due to scarcity of water. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the Panch Mahal and several Majestic palaces, which still retain much of their original splendor. You will also see the Tomb of Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chishti, which is famed as one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture in India. Upon arrival in Agra, check in to your hotel. Later, you'll visit Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, that was home to the greatest Mughal emperors- Babur, Humanyu, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. Continue on the the Tomb of Itmad-ud- Daulah, built with marble encrusted with semi-precious stone decorations, considered by many to be the inspiration of the Taj Mahal. Next, you'll visit the incomparable Taj Mahal a poem in marble, which is recognized as one of the modern wonders of the world. The monument is a mausoleum built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a testament to his love for his Empress, Mumtaz. Little needs to be said about this architectural wonder which is always the soul raison-de-etre for every tourist's visit to Agra. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. A part from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen. MORNING FREE TO EXPLORE GWALIOR ON YOUR OWN

In the afternoon leave Agra for Gwalior by road. Gwalior's history is traced back to a legend in 8th century AD when a chief taint known as Suraj Sen was struck by a deadly disease and cured by a hermit-saint Gwalipa. As a gratitude for that incidence, he founded this city by his name. The new city of Gwalior became existence over the centuries. The cradle of great dynasties ruled the city Gwalior. With different dynasty, the city gained a new dimension from the warrior kings, poets, musicians, and saints who contributed to making it renowned throughout the country/. The city is also the setting for the memorials of freedom fighters such as Tatya tope and the indomitable Rani of Jhansi. Today the old settings stand side by side with the trappings of modernity. On arrival in Gwalior, check in to your hotel. Overnight in Gwalior.

In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gwalior, visiting the majestic Gwalior fort is one of the largest and mightiest forts in India. The SAS-BAHU Temples are 11th century temples of Lord Vishnu while Teli-ka-Mandir is a beautiful 300-meter High Vishnu temple of the 9th century. Transfer to the railway station to board the Shatabdi Express train to Delhi in the evening. In Delhi, our representative will meet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel.
